Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds specs: 1983-1984
The Hurst/Olds returned for model year 1983. If there was any bad news, it was that the 350 Oldsmobile engine was not included this time around. Also, this one outweighed the 1979 version by almost three hundred pounds. Real Olds power was still found under-hood in form of a 307 4bbl. On the plus side, the rear axle ratio was raised to 3.73, which was a full point over the 1979 version’s axle. Also positive notes, the transmission now had overdrive, and the wheels were now 15 inchers. Shiftin was done not by a dual gate, but with the Hurst Lightning Rod setup. The 1983 H/O came in a color scheme of black over silver. The 1984 H/O came in a silver over black scheme.
